Dr. Alva is on call seven days a week during the hours the clinic is not open.

Internal Medicine Services Vickers Clinic provides the full spectrum of Internal Medicine Services including annual physicals, chronic illness management, sick visits, and laboratory monitoring. Hemoglobin A1c, Lipid Panel, Urinalysis, and Hemoglobin levels can be performed in the clinic, providing the patient with results in minutes.

Additional Services Dr. Alva's board certification in Gastroenterology and special interests in Cardiology allow him to provide additional services to patients at the clinic including:

Location The Vickers Clinic is easily accessible from the Durham Freeway just off of Chapel Hill Street. It is conveniently located just six minutes from the Duke Hospital, eight minutes from Durham Regional Hospital, and 12 minutes from Chapel Hill.

2. Turn Left at the light
3. Take the first Right onto William Vickers Avenue

Languages Spoken In addition to English, Dr. Alva is also fluent in Spanish and French.

Appointments At the Vickers Clinic, we pride ourselves in patient service. We understand that patients do not like to wait weeks for an appointment, even if it is an annual physical or a procedure. During Clinic hours, we offer same day appointments for urgent situations, and next day appointments for most other cases. Procedures can typically be scheduled within a week from the time you call. Our nurse, Debbie, is always available to speak with patients during Clinic hours about health concerns and prescription refills.
